QuickControl: For Nest App Reviews

At first I had a problem connecting my watch to QuickConnect. I kept getting a message to open the App on my iPhone first. Kept doing this but still couldnt connect. Finally opened the App on my phone, left it open, then the Watch connected and has worked flawlessly since. Apparently you only have to do this once as it has now been working flawlessly since. Regardless of weather it is or isnt open on the phone.

I like your newly designed app. The design looks good. It shows up on my Today screen (iPhone), and its easy to use. Great job.

Updated 2-17-2016 I love the latest update. I can now use the Apple Watch Digital Crown to control the Temperature. Nice. The only update is to add the ability to control the Fan on my heater from my Apple Watch. The competing app Kontrol allows me to control the fan and the temperature. Kontrol does not yet have Digital Crown control of temperature. Hard to decide which app I like best. I would try both apps and decide for yourself which one you like to use.

I have been using this app since I got my thermostat within the last six months. With the last update I had an issue with the connection with my Apple Watch the developer was great to work with he did not leave me hanging. After all was done I just needed to remove my thermostat from the nest account and add it back on to my best acct. That resolved all the issues I was having with the connection to the watch. So glad to have this app!

Bought the app for the watch app crashes constantly.

I really like this App. It is easier to make quick changes to the my nest at night rather than having to unlock my phone. I also like the fact I can finally control my nest with my Apple Watch. I initially had problems getting the app to run on my watch, but the Apps designers make it extremely easy to contact them from the app, and they responded within minutes and helped me fix the issue. Great app, great customer service!

I find the UI to be mildly confusing and unattractive, but this is the one Apple Watch controller for Nest that actually works. Ive tried two others that looked much better but didnt actually function. Five stars for a better looking, more straightforward UI. I get what they were trying to do, but why would the max temp be shown as a sun (or is that a fireball?) and the min temp be shown as a snowflake? Just display it like everyone else does and stop trying to be unique - its not working. The app works though, and thats way more than I can say for the other apps similar to this one.

The app on apple watch works great, very stable. I really like the controller on the today’s view which is very convenient. The geofencing works well. Just I’m not so used to see a location arrow appearing on the system bar. I communicated with the support for this. The support is really nice and replay the email really quickly. They said they do use the geofencing api from Apple but the system is showing a solid arrow instead of a hollow one which indicates it is using a real time tracking. It may deal to IOS’s bug, I guess. After one day, the feature used 8% of my battery life, which is acceptable. Maybe a little bit more work on be done on the battery saving in the future work. Over all, it’s a great app that I’ll recommend for nest user.

Love this app. Took a minute or two for initial syncing but after that all good. Especially like the fact that you can add complication to watch face. It shows temp in house. If you tap on it you can then change the temperature without ever using your iPhone.

Doesnt let you adjust the temperature on your Apple Watch. Only lets you turn your system on and off. Im deleting and reinstalling for one more try. After that Im out.

Now it works great You just have to use the crown To change the temp setting.

Does crash when you hit the email icon though. Please stop the app from crashing when you hit the email for support icon and you have no emails accounts setup. Its like an exit/crash button. Using a 3rd party app for email!

I have using this app for almost a year now. The app is also on my wife and childrens iPhones and it works really well. As soon as I am a mile or so from my home, I get notified that the Nest is set to "away" mode. As I approach my home, the Furnace has already fired up and began warming up the house.

I looked around at a lot of apps that provide geofencing for Nest. This one works the best. Wont be disappointed. Developer is super responsive to feedback. The watch app is a very nice plus.

This geo-fence app for a nest thermostat works extremely well. It will work for multiple family members and, if you use Apple family share, you only pay for the first app. This latest revision of QuickControl includes three different options for small and large geo-fence rings. Decide whether you are in and out of your home for short local trips or out of town for multiple days in cold or hot weather. The smaller radius ring will switch the nest thermostat to "away" when the last person leaves the home. The larger geo-fence ring will switch to "home" when the first family member crosses it to allow for warm-up or cool-down before arriving. The app on an iPhone is all you need ... The Today pull down notification Widget allows control with the iPhone locked. Also, each user can switch notifications on or off ... or a voice notification can announce when nest has switched via your car Bluetooth connection. But the Apple Watch app is the best of all. A complication shows "home" or "away" and the home temperature in the corner of your watch face. Touch it and the app opens for full control including set-point adjustments. The app also incorporates a full function slide up Glance as well. The support email response is immediate and very receptive to enhancement suggestions. I would give this app six stars if it was a choice!!

no longer works!

I got quick control to be able to set my Nest thermostat from my apple watch. From the beginning it has worked flawlessly, on my watch and on my phone. Recently I started getting an error message. An email to the developer was answered very quickly. He identified the problem being due to a bug in the Nest software and followed up with Nest to get it resolved. With a couple of days, I received an saying everything was resolved at Nest and to let him know if all was working again. Not only is it working, but faster and more responsive than ever. And the new geofencing feature is terrific. My most useful 3rd party app.

I just started using this for the first time and .. It seems to send the nest temperature to the near, and yet yet nothing happens without me going in to the nest app. (?) Also seems to literally turn on the fan randomly for hours when I open the app .. No rhyme or reason or anything Ive done. This application looks great .. Just doesnt work. :-/

Works very well withe the thermostat and camera. If the nest app goes down and it will this app continues to run. The geo fencing works flawlessly. GREAT APP
